A rare anime movie dripping with demons, wizards, and fae.

Actually, I never really know how to write about anime. It is often such a fantastic world beyond ours, with deep meaning that requires my full attention. Full attention is not something I can provide most movies as I multitask.

In the case of these deep movies, multitasking takes away from grasping the detailed anti-war message or for properly understanding the improper sub-plots.

It was a wonderful movie, but I admit to feeling completely lost after the first 30 minutes, I knew I had missed something that I would not get back.

Ghibli movies do not have mercy for those who do not pay attention to them.

So beyond the story and the plot holes caused by my own distraction, the supernatural aspects of the movie are wonderfully crafted. The hint of the anti-war message is obvious enough that even my distracted brain recognised it.

This movie is too dynamic for my attention span, beautiful… but far too dynamic.
