The whole series are comfort movies, which mean movies that come back onto the list every 3 months. There are some comfort movies that are True Comforts which can bypass the list when the mood requires it.

As much as we love the JW series, and as great as this film is, as a stand-alone, it is not a True Comfort.

The body count is impressive, and our faithful JW (Rhichian) really proves that the whole series is just a really amazing 3rd person shooter. Which is not a bad thing.

Another bad day in the life of John Wick, is a good day for us, as the absolute carnage in this movie has the cathartic effects of playing a shooter game, without the frustration and adrenaline required.

The movie starts off with a rare elite and goes through a series of trash mobs. There is a cut-scene that will take you to find an ally (Lucy) and her puppies that will help you fight the first boss and his trash mobs.

I know people who do not like the sequence with the dogs, but personally, I loved the rare dynamic use of dogs in combat. Most animal scenes in movies are limited to animals being used for comedic effect. This scene was amusing but not funny.

We then go to a literal sandbox adventure that will only really be successful for you when your health drops below 10%.

After getting empowered and levelling up, you are back instantly from the side quest to the main quest. There are some more trash mobs here and a boss you are not meant to kill yet.

This leads you to a sanctuary, which is phased into a scenario that is no longer one.

This is a mythic dungeon, which you are basically going to solo.

The mobs are all higher level elites, and the boss had a stupid amount of hit points.

Ah…. but we would not want a spoiler on how it ends! Just to say there is a sequel.
