Extraction 2 2023

1224th movie, 182nd from the 2020s, 412th on Netflix

Rating: 8/10

Distraction rating: 7/10

Plot armour rating: 10/10, didn’t he die last movie?

Much like John Wick, this movie is entering that world FPS or 3PS, with the plot armour being so thick I am figuring the main character could take a tank blast to the face, go home and take a couple of Motrin and be fine by morning.

But then, this is what I love about it. The action scenes are amazing, over the top but amazing. Especially with those long continuous shots that drag you into the action. You can almost feel the bullets zipping by.

The plot in this movie is secondary to the action. You do not really care for any of the people he is trying to save, unlike the first movie where the kid was a slightly more integral part of the plot.

The main child of this movie is still a lot less annoying than that kid from The Day the Earth Stood Still but nowhere near as noteworthy as the child from Captain Marvel.

The children are only in this movie to give the bad guys some reason to hunt the main character.

I realise children are not the smartest of people, but I admit I might have gotten the clue that the person who supposedly wanted to save me was lying when the vaporized the floor I was on with a gatling gun… but that is just me.

Still, unbridled violence and action mixed with long, continuous scenes make this the action movie I need it to be.

Also, God mode is definitely on!
