The perfect Ghibli anime for anyone who is looking to get into Ghibli.

Beyond that, however, it is not a movie that requires much review or criticism.

It is an excellent family movie about independence, coming of age, growing up, and redefining one’s self-worth. But unlike many other Ghibli movies, this one does not layer all these character developments under complicated storyline.

You walk away knowing what you watched, without having to sit down with a bottle of scotch, a notebook, and three friends from the peanut gallery all offering their theories.

I would recommend this movie to anyone.
