1746th movie, 265th from the 2020s, 162nd on iTunes
Part of the Halloween and Disaster collections, comfort movie.
I recently watched Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
I personally liked it a lot, possibly for sentimental reasons, but I am also old enough to remember how much people hated Ghostbuster 2 when it was released.
There is a certain element of they could do more, but it felt like the movie was targeting a Millenial audience more than a GenX or GenZ one.
There are missed opportunities for some 80s throwback music. “Magic” by Mick Smiley would have been perfect for a certain scene. It actually played in my head.
There were several missed opportunities, but it was still felt a lot less forced than Ghostbusters 2016.
I would not be opposed to those characters being reintegrated into the series somehow.
It would be just like me to have a girl crush on a ghost.
