Something of a regular Halloween movie for us, this is the 3rd viewing. Part of our Halloween Collection.
This is a fun movie, the right level of scary without the nightmares, and it appeals to my inner child.
We all had that place as a kid that we deemed to be haunted ground. Either it was a house, a building, the woods near our house… there was something. We gave it a lot of mythological power.
I was fortunate not to grow up in a neighbourhood with a bastard neighbour, but I did have friends who lived on the other side of the park who were not so lucky. That cranky, “old” person who was adamant that you stay off their land and everything that fell on there belonged to them.
I can imagine if they had been living on the haunted ground how something similar to this movie could come together.
It is a story about wild imagination and supernatural horror.
This is a wonderful story about friendship and love, but I would not put too much deeper meaning into this film.
Cute story and definitely fun once a year around Halloween.
